This course is offered for those people who are responsible for installing operating systems in hardware shops and getting the hardware ready for applications.

Linux for Desktops Linux for Servers How to Install different distributions : Installation of Mandriva, Suse, Redhat, Ubuntu, Fedora, Slackware Bootable Linux : Mandriva, Knoppix, Suse Live Default automated install techniques. Automation of installs. How to identify supported hardware. How to find drivers for hardware which is supported by binary drivers. How to install and test drivers. How to upgrade the softwares. How to find, select, download and install softwares not in the distribution CDs. How to find documentation for problems. Troubleshooting. Understanding the directory structure. Partitioning techniques. How to install Linux and Windows on the same machine. Getting supported hardware working. How to get free help. How to get commercial help. Making sure most common applications are running correctly so users do not have any problems. Setting security levels. Teaching the user about how to get started. Teaching the user how to get free help. Teaching the user how to get paid help.
