Position Overview
World On Line (WOL) is looking for an Assistant Manager ISP Operations based at Karachi. He will be responsible for assisting Senior Manager ISP Operations at Karachi for the implementation, maintenance, upgrade and support organization's networks and handling corporate customers. The position requires a sufficiently senior and experienced person who will lead a team of network engineers/computer sciences graduates. He will be involved in planning, implementation and monitoring of all data communication systems.

Key Responsibilities
Implementation, maintenance and support of organization's networks.
Manage a team of network engineers
Define network solutions, and manage the implementation of the solution.
Assist in defining and implementing engagement processes for new networking business coming into the Organization.
To plan, implement and monitor all data communications systems for the Company.
Primary interface for troubleshooting and resolving data network problems.
Provides operational support to Helpdesk staff.
Responsible for upgrading and support of data network hardware and software.
Direct and perform network architecture design and analysis of communication networks and protocols supporting the implementation of all aspects related to converged voice and data Service Provider networks.
Analysis and network architecture design of state of the art converged data and voice over XDSL, IP, and ATM based networks and related signaling, Network management, security, network and application protocols
Trade-off and performance studies dealing with the implementation of various services, applications and protocols in as Service Provider Network, evaluation of software products and network equipment /appliances, system and network integration testing
Preparation of plans and strategies of WOL.
Acts as primary organizational interface with vendor and provides internal analysis and support.
Manages performance of a multiple hardware and software platform interface at complex level.
Experience Required
6 years relevant work experience, with at least 4 years of managerial experience in an IT/Telecom/ISP/Broadband fields.
Experience of dealing with PTCL, PTA and Govt. Agencies for network up gradation and maintenance.
Education/Professional Qualification
B.Sc. (Electronics/Electrical Engineering)/M.Sc. Computer Sciences from a reputable institution.
Must be CCNA, CCNP/CCIE
Skills Required
Practical/Hands on experience of:
Mail servers, cache servers, SDH (Fibre Equipment), DNS, FTP Servers, Web Servers, Remote Access Servers
Lucent Max TNT, Cisco 5300, Lucent Max 6000 and 3000.
Layer 3 and layer 4 switches from Nortel, Cisco etc.
UNIX, LINUX, WIN NT, WIN 2000, SUN Solaris, Apache, Port Master, Firewall/Security devices.
