Making it simple to install software on Linux Project (MISTISOLP)

By : Khawar Nehal

An operating system's success is made through the availability of applications.

Linux has millions of applications available for it.

There are many new users coming to try Linux.

The new users can install software available on the distributions.

New users may be able to find new software but many softwares require some expertise to install depending on their distribution.

I am creating a new project to make it easier to install software on Linux for new users.

The project is called the Making it simple to install software on Linux project.
MISTISOLP

Basics and assumptions.

1. A separate file shall be provided to install a software on every distribution version.
2. The minimum requirements is a complete install of the distribution. This means that the user has installed “everything” in the custom setup of the distribution. This does not include any software not installed but available in the distribution if the user selects everything during the first install.
3. All hardware needs to be activated during the initial install so the maximum amount of relevant software can be installed by the distribution.

The MISTISOLP objective is to provide a single executable file which shall be able to install the software on a specific distribution.
